Power Macintosh models 7200, 7500, 8500 & 9500 that were shipped with Mac system software version
7.5.2 included Open Transport (TCP/IP) version 1.0.6(fondly known as "Broken Transport").
This version of Open Transport (TCP/IP) doesn't work over a modem connection.
Anyone running this configuration has three options:
- Migrate back to the older MacTCP.
- Update TCP/IP to version 1.0.8 (we have the updater on our FTP site)
- Upgrade your system software to version 7.5.3 or higher.
Option one is least desirable, option three is most desirable.
