To save any current outgoing message, such as your test message, select Save from the File menu. This saves the message in its current state in the Out mailbox, which holds all outgoing mail.

After you save your test message, select Out from the Mailbox menu to view the message summary. The bullet (·) in the Status column of the message summary indicates that the message has been saved, and can be sent or queued.

You do not need to save an outgoing message before you send it. It will merely insure that a computer crash or similar event will keep the letter from being lost before you send it.
