Your files have permissions that you can control to
limit access.
Other users may not read your files unless you modify
their permissions. The PRIMUS operators can override
permissions and read any file. We respect the privacy of
our users but reserve the right to examine any files or
directories when necessary for troubleshooting or other
valid administrative reasons.
UNIX file permissions give you some protection, but
the only way to secure sensitive data is to encrypt it.
We provide, with no endorsement, PGP. See 'man
pgp' for more info.
The U.S. federal government is attempting to limit
your privacy rights by controlling the market for
encryption technology. We urge you to find out about this
issue and support the Electronic Frontier Foundation in
its efforts to protect our freedom. See the newsgroups comp.org.eff.news and alt.politics.datahighway
for more information.
